This year 102 Countries entered books in the awards. The event took place in Paris, at La Comédie Française, the theater of Molière, next to the Louvre.
Peru also won Best Restaurant Guide in the world, showing the diversity, creativity and talent of its publishers, the design of this guide was admired, and will be copied now. It was one the books with the biggest interest from other publishers at the exhibition of the Gourmand stand, at the Abu Dhabi Book Fair in March 2009, and at the London Book Fair LBF/Gourmand Cookbook Corner in April 2009
